My favourite sauce is this easy and delicious recipe for Tzatziki

There is nothing better than Greek food. Healthy and tasty; Always of a treat. And good for the soul! And one of the foundations of the Greek diet is Tzatziki sauce: fresh, creamy. Here is a simple recipe for tzatziki:

Ingredients Recipe for Tzatziki Sauce

2 cups of thick low fat Greek yogurt
5 to 10 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 cup of finely diced cucumber
1 Tbl spoon olive oil
2 to 4  t spoon lemon juice
Dill to taste

method

Prepare all ingredients before you begin. First oil mixture and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Add the yogurt, folding it in slowly so that it mixes well with oil and juice. In plain yogurt will work fine, but if you can get Greek yogurt, even better! Then add the garlic (suggestion ! Try roasted garlic), according to your taste, I like lots but you might not, then cucumber. Stir the mixture until evenly mixed. Garnish with a little greens and serve  chilled.

Yield: This recipe will make about 2 1/2 cups.

Add mint or dill: Slight variations include 1-2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill or fresh mint.

I prefer dill in this recipe tzatziki and so do the Greeks!

Storage:

Tzatziki will easily store easily and safely in your refrigerator for many days. However, garlic may become stronger and stronger in the refrigerator.

Serving Suggestions:

Tzatziki sauce is perfect for dipping pita bread before the meal or use for greek meat and flat flour wrap. Can also be used for sandwiches . Everyone enjoys a good tzatziki sauce and is a welcome addition to my table. Enjoy it because its good for you!
